Pier Fishing in a Word Fair
Pier Fishing Hot Spot Outer Banks Pier for good cathes of triggerfish, spot, spanish mackerel and bluefish. Also a 56 pound cobia was caught.
Frisco Pier Closed, not sure of a open date.
Avon Pier Pompano, croaker, sea mullet, spot, bluefish and a 29.25 pound king mackerel.
Rodanthe Pier No report.
Outer Banks Pier Good cathes of triggerfish, spot, spanish mackerel and bluefish. Also a 56 pound cobia was caught.
Nags Head Pier Good catches of small bluefish.
Avalon Pier Bluefish, spanish mackerel and small flounder.

Offshore Fishing in a Word Excellent
Offshore Fishing Hot Spot Hatteras Offshore for scattered catches of dolphin, wahoo, and blackfin tuna. Also billfishing was HOT again with over 45 being caught/released.
Ocracoke OffShore Fleet Amberjack.
Hatteras OffShore Fleet Scattered catches of dolphin, wahoo, and blackfin tuna. Also billfishing was HOT again with over 45 being caught/released.
Oregon Inlet OffShore Fleet Good catches of dolphin, yellowfin tuna, tilefish, grouper, sea bass and blackfin tuna. Also at least 27 billfish were caught/released (the flags were flying).
Broad Creek OffShore Fleet Amberjack, tilefish and dolphin. Also several billfish were caught/released.
Pirates Cove OffShore Fleet Good catches of dolphin. Also numerous billfish were caught/released.
